Over 100 years of history in this hidden gem, right in the heart of Paraparaumu Beach. Walk across the road to the beach or take a short leisurely stroll to restaurants, takeaways, superette, childrens playgrounds, skate park and BMX track. All sites are powered and have individual private shower and toilet facilities. Built in the 40's they offer charm and privacy with no queuing for the toilet block here!
El Rancho Holiday Park
El Rancho Holiday Park, just off the Expressway and a short walk to Waikanae Beach provides comfortable accommodation from camping and caravan sites to cabins and lodges. Most of the accommodation is self-serviced leaving you more dollars to enjoy your holiday.
With a wide variety of on-site activities, the location is ideal for walking and cycling with tracks bordering the Waikanae River and around the estuary to Waikanae Beach.
The El Rancho complex also has a range of really decent motel units depending on budget and preference. There are units suitable for individuals, couples and families at a very competitive price.

Horse Camping at Ōtaki-Māori Racing Club
Based inside the extensive grounds of the Ōtaki-Māori Racing Club and looking out onto the stunning Tararua Ranges, this dedicated horse camping area provides all of the facilities needed by riders and horses alike. Just 5 minutes from State Highway 1 and the Otaki township, you can set up your tent, float or horse-truck right next to your horse’s yard.
There are many hours of riding available within 20 minutes drive of the camp - whether trail riding, beach trekking, riding alongside (or in) the rivers in Otaki and Waikanae, or hacking the hilly tracks at Whareroa Farm, the Kāpiti Coast absolutely can cater for your style of riding.
Otaki can also help with your equestrian and camping supplied with Farmlands, Hunting & Fishing, Kathmandu and New World all on nearby. Should the worst happen, the large animal team at Equine & Farm Vet Services on Riverbank Road provide 24-hour support.
