Supporting Local businesses as we prepare to step down the alert levels

Hanging out for a restaurant meal? With the move to Level 3 tomorrow, excitement is building for Eat Out at Home! We have gathered together the details of restaurants and cafes across Kāpiti who will be operating at level 3 with contactless pick up or delivery, so you can support local businesses and enjoy a night off the dishes.

Eat out at home

Eat Out At Home is now live and we are promoting this via Facebook on KāpitiCoastNZ and Love Local during level 3.

Retail is right behind, with a growing number of stores who are trading online in Kāpiti adding to these pages:

If you know of any local Kāpiti businesses who are trading who are not on these pages, please encourage them to jump on and add their details – there is a form at the bottom of each page.

Council seeking drawcard events with distinct Kāpiti flavour

Round two of Kāpiti Coast District Council’s Major Events Fund is opening for applications on 1 September.

The contestable fund supports major events that bring economic benefits to the district by attracting visitors and supporting the local economy.

The application form and criteria are available on the Council website.

Applications close 5pm, Thursday 30 September.

Final funding decisions will be made by Council in November 2021.

Raumati Village Survey

Raumati Beach Village Association and First Retail Group are working together to develop a strategic direction for Raumati Village. They are conducting a survey to gather insights into the needs and aspirations of business owners and consumers. 

If you are an interested business owner, shopper or diner please take a couple of minutes to complete the survey. 

Sustainable foods come to Kāpiti

Council are delighted to have supported Sustainable Foods Limited, one of New Zealand’s leading plant-based protein businesses, in their move to Kāpiti.

The company recently started producing its plant-based protein products, under its new plan*t brand, at its facility on Te Roto Drive in Paraparaumu. The products, such as burgers, mince and sausages, are already available in supermarkets nationwide. Read more
