Digital Wings repurposing IT equipment with business support

If you are a business that is exploring ways to repurpose electronic equipment you no longer require to minimise your waste, then reach out to Digital Wings and see how you can also assist the Kāpiti community.

Help provide resources for the community

The Digital Wings programme enables the distribution of electronic equipment from corporate donors to community organisations to enhance educational and employment opportunities. This initiative not only minimises waste but delivers pivotal resources for the community. Many Kāpiti Coast organisations have already been the lucky recipients of refurbished computers and phones, which have been donated by businesses.

COVID-19 has impacted the process and Digital Wings are calling for more donor companies to provide high quality equipment. The Digital Wings Trust works with socially and environmentally responsible businesses to donate quality IT equipment to charities and community organisations.

Digital Wings invite charities, whānau/hapū and community groups to apply for refurbished computers to support their goals and outcomes, free of charge.

Kāpiti Businesses can support this mahi by becoming a donor and business donors can nominate charities of their choice. The type of electronic equipment that could assist the community includes laptops and monitors, but they are always looking for a diverse range of quality IT equipment.

Business Donors receive:

  • Feedback on the way their gifts have enriched the lives of people in recipient communities
  • Security-wiping to GCSB-audited Top-Secret level at no cost to the donor with Blancco certificates reported as proof
  • An easy, time efficient, asset management solution
  • Assurance their e-waste stays out of the landfill with a takeback at end-of-life policy

All Greater Wellington donor company kits go into a Digital Wings pool for redeployment from RemarkIT’s Wellington based warehouse.  Ensuring charities get the best equipment available despite what their local businesses donate.
