Kāpiti Arts Trail

Make sure you schedule time for the iconic Kāpiti Arts Trail - an annual event that has been showcasing incredible artistic talent for over 20 years.

Kapiti Arts Trail

6/7 & 13/14 NOV 2021

Now in its 21st year, the Kāpiti Arts Trail is a free annual event that sees artists across the district open their doors to share Kāpiti’s vibrant art scene with art lovers and the art curious alike.

Every year the two weekends of art immersion offer a rare glimpse into the studio spaces and workings of artists - all of whom are listed in the Kāpiti Arts Guide and can be visited year-round.

There's art for all tastes: painting in oils, watercolour or mixed media; fibre arts; ceramics; jewellery; photography; street art; digital art; tattoo; glass; and wood. Many artists demonstrate their creative process, and all have their art available for sale - great way to support quality New Zealand artists.

Stretching from Paekākāriki in the south (just 45 minutes from Wellington) to Ōtaki in the north, the arts trail also offers the perfect opportunity to check out Kāpiti’s delicious food scene, stunning walks and beaches, and enjoy many superb artists' gardens in Spring on the Trail.

From October download or pick up a beautifully produced Kāpiti Arts Guide from community centres, libraries, and many other venues, or use the information below to plan your perfect weekend in Kāpiti.
