Walking with Alpacas
Cantharis Alpacas is one of longest established alpaca farms on the Kapiti Coast, only 30 minutes North of Wellington.
Currently open for pre-booked and guided walks with the alpacas for you and the alpacas to be entertained.
During the tour you will be able to walk with an alpaca on a lead over a handcrafted farm track, hand feed them and, assuming they are in the mood, share some intense hugs.

Ngā Manu Easter Celebration
Ngā Manu’s Easter celebration runs throughout the long weekend 7 – 10 April. Join in the popular Easter Rock hunt to win chocolate Easter Eggs or one of sponsored prizes. There are over $2,000 worth of prizes to be won.
Take a selfie or cuddle with Kiri the Easter Kiwi, life-sized Kiwi mascot. Enjoy a sausie sizzle and hot drink for sale, a colouring competition and scavenger hunt. Bring your picnic blanket and make a day of it. Watch or join in the daily eel feeding at 12pm and 2pm.
Ōtaki Emergency Response Practice
Come along and find out more about Ōtaki Community Emergency Hubs and the types of help that may be needed after an emergency. Have fun meeting together and practicing various volunteer roles with an interactive earthquake scenario.

Kāpiti Foraging Workshop - Identify Wild Edible Plants
Step into nature to discover a world full of wild, edible plants. Focusing on abundant, delicious & nutritious edible weeds & commonly found plants, you’ll leave this workshop eager to forage in your own backyard & neighbourhood.
Start with a cup of herbal tea, and end the session by enjoying a wildly delicious snack made with seasonally available wild ingredients. This varies with the seasons but could include a wild salad, weedy pesto, pickled greens, a herb infused butter etc.
Class sizes are limited to allow lots of space for your questions, so book early to avoid missing out.
Mentoring for Kāpiti Community Leaders Orientation
Are you a Manager or Trustee of a Kāpiti Community Organisation? Would you like to receive some one-on-one advice and guidance to enhance your effectiveness in this role? This programme could be exactly what you need. The Mentoring for Kāpiti Community Leaders programme is a Capable Sector Project initiative aimed at strengthening the capability of Kāpiti Community organisations by providing targeted support to their leaders and fostering tuakana-tenia relationships.
Upon joining the programme, you will be connected to a mentor who has strong and relevant leadership experience and understands your community. Over a six- month timeframe, you will have six one-on-one sessions with your mentor and participate in three workshops. By following a proven mentoring model, you will be supported in building your effectiveness as a leader, as you work on your current priorities and grow your confidence, your capability, and your connection to other leaders in your community.
