The programme is brimming with activities for all ages including workshops, a pop-up nature playground, an eco-art exhibition, film screenings and community resilience.
Join in the fun at the launch party - a Pecha Kucha speakers evening hosted at Māoriland Hub. Ten speakers take on the 20 seconds x 20 slides challenge to talk about their 'superhero powers to change the world' including a shared meal, music and dancing. Get hands-on and take action against plastic at Knit Stitch and Ditch Plastic day in Queen Elizabeth Park. Learn practical DIY skills including raw cake making, beeswax wraps, preserves, zero-waste cooking, medicinal teas and more. Or get outdoors for planting in Whareroa farm and help build a pop-up nature playground.
The events are happening across the district in a diverse range of iconic spots including community halls, community gardens Whareroa farm, Queen Elizabeth Park, Kāpiti College and the Māoriland hub.
Most events are free or affordable, bookings are essential.
