Ōtaki Beach

Ōtaki beach is known for great surfing with the Surf Life Saving Club and the surf lessons provided by Wellington Surf Lessons right on the beach.
The estuary is a popular spot for fishing and is one of the easiest places for children to catch their first fish.


Peka Peka Beach

Peka Peka may be the smallest of the seaside towns, but the beach is one of the most beautiful! This stunning wide beach has an unaffected view of Kāpiti Island and has the protection of sand dunes.
Secluded and tranquil, it is a great spot to sit and relax or go for a gentle surf, while the busy world behind the dunes continues on without you.

Paekākāriki Beach

The surf’s often up in Paekākāriki, but when it’s not, grab you paddle boarding to watch the sunset over Kāpiti Island.
Safe swimming is available at the north end of The Parade where the Paekākāriki Surf Lifeguards patrol during the summer months.
Waikanae Beach

The beautiful cherry blossom lined Te Moana Road, ‘the road to the sea’ will lead you to Waikanae beach.
The beach is wide and uncrowded, and its gentle gradient and spectacular views of Kāpiti Island make it a popular destination for swimmers, walkers and beach cricketers.
Several cafes and restaurants renowned for International cuisine, are staffed by chefs from around the world who have chosen this idyllic spot in which to work.




Paraparaumu Beach

Paraparaumu Beach, a safe swimming and child friendly beach, and also a popular spot for fishing, boating, kayaking.
The largest of the seaside villages, Paraparaumu Beach has a range of shops, cafés, restaurants, holiday accommodation and a bustling Saturday market with local produce arts and crafts, and buskers.
Raumati Beach

Raumati Beach and Raumati South both have sandy beaches great for swimming, surf casting, kayaking and other water sports.
