The Old Stables

135 Ringawhati Road, Ōtaki

View map

These historic brick stables, set amongst the mature trees of Talisman Nursery have been converted into the most delightful cottage.

Built in the early 1920s with locally made bricks, The Old Stables housed draught horses and equipment as part of the Mangahao – Haywards power reticulation scheme. Lovingly converted during the late 1980s by a conservation architect it is now perfect as a deliciously cosy retreat.

Only 5 minutes drive from Ōtaki, the tranquillity of the surroundings make it feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. With so many original features and modern must-haves (like the log fire) The Old Stables are just perfect for relaxing and re-energising.
