Argyle Trio

7 Pehi Kupa St, Waikanae

The Argyle Trio made up of Wilma Smith on the violin, Matthias Balzat playing the cello and Michael Houstoun on the piano will be performing in Waikanae later this month. Violinist Wilma Smith is well-known as the former Concertmaster of the NZSO and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. A popular regular in Waikanae, Wilma frequently gathers outstanding young musicians to join her in concert.

Tickets for this concert will be available at Waikanae New World, from Moby Dickens Books in Paraparaumu Beach or through the society's website. Door sales will also be available.

His teenage daughter is an alien to him in a tech-driven, social media world. After an altercation at a wedding gig, Darryl is ordered to go to anger management. Over the course of a week, Darryl meets a diverse range of people who guide him towards a new perspective on life. Aroha String Quartet

An integral part of the country’s musical scene since 2004, this versatile quartet is known for its passionate musicality, impressive technique and multicultural innovation. Haihong Liu and Zhongxian Jin, original members of the Quartet, were joined by Robert Ibell in 2009 and Konstanze Artmann in 2018. As well as the standard quartet repertoire, they enjoy adding traditional Chinese music, New Zealand music or music by lesser-known composers to their concerts. The Heartland Flyer

Travel with Steam Incorporated north from Kapiti via the spectacular Manawatu Gorge to Woodville for an easy day out. The train will be hauled by one of our restored steam locomotives and we will be using our fleet of classic red heritage carriages including our Buffet Car. Passenger stops will be Paekakariki, Paraparaumu, Waikanae, Otaki, Levin, Shannon and Palmerston North. While travelling through the Manawatu Gorge you will be able to view the large slips that have closed the highway on the opposite side of the river. There will be a stopover at Shannon for about 45 minutes and Woodville for about 60 minutes for you to enjoy craft stalls set up by local community groups

Every year the two weekends of art immersion offer a rare glimpse into the studio spaces and workings of artists - all of whom are listed in the Kāpiti Arts Guide and can be visited year-round.

There's always something for everyone on the Arts Trail: painting in oils, watercolour or mixed media; fibre arts; ceramics; jewellery; photography; street art; digital art; tattoo; glass; and wood. Many artists demonstrate their creative process, and all have their art available for sale, it is a great way to support quality New Zealand artists.
