Winter Mardi Gras
This show involves circus performers, acrobats, aerialists, horses and their riders and vaulters! Each performer will be wrapped in colour and show off a wide range of skills from hula hoops to a miniature horse, horses jumping to jumping over the horse, acrobatics on horseback and contortion in the air. Those are just some of the amazing talents we will have in this magnificent show.
This will be held at the Kapiti Equestrian Centre over the last weekend of August, don’t miss out as the last show, 1920’s Extravaganza was a sell-out! Wrap up warm and come along to celebrate and discover these amazing talents!
Kāpiti Half Marathon
Explore the stunning Kāpiti Coast for a running festival including a 21km half marathon, 10km, 5km plus bring the kids for our kick it kids 2k.
Set on the beautiful coastal roads and river trails, 30 minutes from Wellington CBD, all the runs are based in the heart of Paraparaumu Beach overlooked by the magnificent Kāpiti Island. Using a combination of road and hard-packed gravel this course is fast, flat and beautiful. You will enjoy river trails, tree-lined streets, lakes and the stunning Waikanae Estuary boardwalk. 30-minute drive from Wellington with great public transport links, this is the ultimate destination run. Kapiti Strawberry Festival
Welcome to the 2022 Kapiti Strawberry Festival!
During November and December thousands of delicious strawberry sundaes will be sold around the region to raise funds for Mary Potter Hospice to help keep the hospice service free.
The Hospice provides some of the best quality specialist care in the world for people facing terminal illness and their families.
Come along to Kapiti Primary School in Paraparaumu on Saturday 19 November from 9.30am and celebrate spring and help us to keep hospice services free.

The Web Genius Kāpiti Run for Youth 2023
Kāpiti Run for Youth is a family-friendly event – all humans, baby buggies and crowd-friendly dogs on leads are welcome. Bring your sunhat, sunscreen and water on the day. There are sponsored prizes, treats for the kids, certificates for everyone participating and free Paekākāriki Mini Pops for everyone at the end.
Raise funds and fitness for Kāpiti rangatahi youth while having fun strolling or running along the beautiful Kāpiti coastline.
