Kate JasonSmith’s acclaimed show I’ll Tell You This for Nothing is the dramatic and often humorous tale of her mother Phyllis who was awarded the Legion d’Honneur as a QA nurse on the WWII battlefields.

Milord Goffredo is Jan Bolwell’s dynamic re-creation of her father Geoffrey’s WW11 exploits - a Dunedin butcher who became ‘a bloody legend’ in a small northern Italian town, where he lived in a cave for two years after twice escaping from her German captors.

“….. a cracker of a New Zealand story beautifully evoked.” Mark Amery, Sunday Times

After successful seasons over recent years of Rent, Mamma Mia, The Phantom of the Opera & Hair, the Otaki Players are back with a glamorous production of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Based on the popular 1994 film of the same name, Priscilla Queen of the Desert follows two drag queens and a transsexual who buy a run-down old bus (they call it Priscilla) and set out on a road trip across the Australian Outback when one of them, Tick, is invited by his ex-wife to perform his drag show at her far-away resort. However, Tick is hesitant to tell his friends, Bernadette (a former performing icon who’s best days are behind her) and Adam (a rambunctious young troublemaker), his own personal reasons for taking the trip. During their journey, the trio encounters an array of Australian citizens, some of who aren’t receptive to their lifestyle, while strengthening their own friendship.
